1852 United States Round Indian Head California Gold Token Gold Rush coin.
These tokens were created as souvenirs of the California Gold Rush, particularly during "Period Two" (1858-1882) when a shortage of small change led jewelers to mint these items. Thus the word replica on back.
California Fractional Gold coins (from "Period One," 1852-1857) do not have the replica .
Found this in the very bottom of an attic box that contained the glass light pole conductors that were phased out in 1970.
The box has been unopened since the late 60's so I'm sure it is legit.
