Vintage 1880s German Antique Franz Anton Melhelm BONN Art Nouveau Raised Relief Blue Ribbon Handled Ceramic METEOR GESCHUTZT Chamber Pot
Measures roughly 8.25" in diameter x 5.5" tall/deep, and is in incredibly immaculate condition. Close inspection reveals no cracks or chips, and the piece wholly shows little to no indication of use...especially given its age. It's production date is between 1885 and 1899, revealed by the markings and detail on the Melhelm Bonn "castle" stamp on the bottom. This specific piece is also exponentially more scarce & collectible, due to it being a production anomaly; it's not finished lol! Notice how the all the details are painted/colored, EXCEPT for a segment of "ribbon," which is supposed to be painted blue! It makes one wonder what happened- did they simply run out of color, lose interest, or walk off the job?!?Either way- beautiful antique ceramic chamber pot.
