This antique French corset is made of cotton jacquard in a dainty yellow floral. The top is trimmed in lace and yellow ribbon. As this garment was worn for many years, it was repaired and altered repeatedly. The two interior pockets, made from different fabrics, is an especially charming addition to the piece. The yellow laces are original. There is a label inside the corset, which reads as follows:

The body of the corset is strong, allowing for this item to be worn (as opposed to solely used for study). However, it is an antique piece, at least 150 years old, and one which was worn repeatedly, over many years. Several of the 12 whale bone inserts are missing (3 entirely, 2 halfway), and there is damage to the lace. There are several areas that need minor mending. I have neither altered this in any manner, nor has the corset been cleaned,
