The Metropolitan Police Investigation Division 8 (commonly known as Gorilla, G-8) is an organization secretly established by the Metropolitan Police Department's top brass to deal with the increasing diversification and viciousness of crimes that are difficult to handle with ordinary police force.

Its existence is only known to police officials of the rank of precinct chief or higher.

Although it belongs to the Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigation Division, its missions are directly assigned by the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department, and it has the authority to intervene in any case.
