In the Chimayo region, nestled in the mountains near Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, the traditional weaving culture of Spanish settlers has taken root.
Centinela Traditional Art began in the 1980s when Mr. Irvin Trujillo, whose family has been weaving for generations, started making rugs with his father in their garage, which they converted into a workshop.
Their skill, having originally been involved in the production of Ortega, a relative, goes without saying. They have established a firm uniqueness by reviving the traditional method of dyeing yarn with natural materials. While striving to spread the traditional culture of Chimayo and actively working to teach techniques and culture to the next generation, they also challenge innovative designs, techniques, and the exquisite colors produced by natural materials. Today, they are the only workshop in Chimayo that produces collection pieces, and they are widely recognized as the most artistic Chimayo Weaver.

The Chimayo vest on offer this time is a popular long vest with a long length and a flat hem that is easy to wear.
The pockets on both sides are also practical and part of the design.
Unlike the most basic designs, this piece has a combination of diamond patterns and stripes, giving it a rich impression, and the pattern is not seen in Ortega, which is also a highlight.
The vest, made of 100% wool, is carefully hand-woven one by one, and the yarn is dyed with natural materials. Centinela's vest, which makes extensive use of natural and delicate colors, is a crystallization of Chimayo's history and an item that allows you to experience the unchanging, authentic quality.
