This is an early work by Shinro Ohtake, a visual artist, in which he sketched the dreams he had over a four-year period from 1984 to 1988. It contains 100 gouaches and over 300 drawings, attempting to capture the images and sensations of intangible dreams.
Photographs, Polaroids, scraps of paper such as admission tickets and newspaper articles, and illustrations of drawings are pasted onto the pages of the book, allowing you to flip through them and read the records of the dreams behind them.
It also suggests a connection to Ohtake Shinro's signature collage and scrapbook works.
Special binding techniques were used to accommodate the vast number of pasted illustrations within the pages, making it a book close to an artist book, with the book design handled by the artist himself.
Separate leaflet "Memories of Dreams".
In Memories of Dreams, the mysteries of the eyes and the retina are also mentioned.
First edition published by Yobi-sha in 1988.
Condition: First edition, hardcover, with cover, cloth binding, some of the pasted illustrations have come unglued. (I think it's okay to read.)
Year: 1988
