It's a 90s-era, Made in USA pair, which have been increasing in price in recent years.
Unlike garment-dyed denim, this is "yarn-dyed," meaning the threads were dyed before being woven. This results in a unique, grayish, ink-like fade. It's a highly popular model, allowing you to enjoy beautiful whiskers and fades like indigo denim.
Based on the inner tag's "553 0499," it can be determined that these were made in April 1999 at the 553 factory (San Benito factory) in the USA.
