Gosha Rubchinskiy, a photographer who is also active as a menswear designer, has released his new photobook, "THE DAY OF MY DEATH." This project, which originated from his invitation as a guest designer to this year's Pitti Uomo, is Rubchinskiy's first photobook shot outside of Russia. Using locations such as factories and government headquarters in Florence, he found aesthetic values similar to those of the former Soviet Union in Mussolini's Italy. Rubchinskiy posed the questions, "What is contemporary Europe? Are countries integrating or separating? What is global? And what is individuality?"

"The Day of My Death" is a collection of works by Gosha Rubchinskiy, a fashion designer and photographer born in Moscow, Russia. While he is a designer, he is also a first-class photographer, like the great Karl Lagerfeld, and Hedi Slimane, who was the creative director of Yves Saint Laurent and Celine. This young artist, Rubchinskiy, is one of them. His style, inspired by Russian street culture and the rebellious spirit against socialist states, gained rapid attention from the 2010s and is very popular in Japan. As a photographer, he has released two photobooks based in Russia, and this is his third. This is his first work shot outside of Russia, with factories built in Florence under the Mussolini regime as the setting, which gives a sense of similarity to his own country under government control.
