I have here for sale a book entitled H.M. Stanley, The African explorer by Arthur Montefiore F.R.G.S. Published by London, S.W. Partridge & Co. (undated), c.1890. Sith Edition, thirty- second thousand. A biographical work on Henry M. Stanley, journalist and explorer, known for his exploration of central Africa and his search for missionary David Livingstone with the famous greeting "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" A thorough account of his fascinating life by A. Montefiore-Brice. Profusely illustrated throughout. Original beige cloth, with pictorial cover, gilt titles and gilt cameo of Stanley. Floral endpapers. Illustrated with; engraved chapter headings, numerous text illustrations, and some full page plates. Also there are 3 Maps present, of wich one is double page Map of; Central Africa, with the French and Portuguese territories, aswel as the Imperial British East African Cie. In overall good used condition with signs of age, handling. Boards a touch rubbed, and faded to spine. Internally, firmly bound.
