Jetstream 4&1 Yakisugi Ukurizukuri (Yakusugi) Deai-moku, hand-carved

This is a multi-function Jetstream 4&1 ballpoint pen with a comfortable grip made of burnt cedar (Yakusugi) and a waisted design. The ballpoint pen body is also included. It has been coated with beeswax wax.

By creating the waist, I've brought out the "deai-moku" (meeting grain), where two wood grains face each other. Furthermore, it has been burnt with a burner to create a "ukuzukuri" finish. "Ukuzukuri" is a finishing method that brings out the wood grain.

In the past, particular carpenters would choose materials with "deai-moku" for visible areas like entrances, where guests would see them.

I've crafted this pen, with the exception of hollowing out the barrel, entirely by hand, imbuing it with the wish for good fortune and good relationships by carrying a pen with the auspicious "deai-moku." It's a one-of-a-kind item with a unique shape. Please take this opportunity to experience the warmth of hand-shaping and Yakusugi wood.
