For centuries, the city of Utsuwa has been under the shadow of a spell of the fox spirit Shin, which allows the demons, the Ayakashi, to move relatively freely around the city. To keep this spell upright, Shin's soul must be reborn again and again in a boy from this city, but he must make a great sacrifice for it.
