Made from a kimono purchased as Oshima Tsumugi 7-Maruki (black mud-dye).
The checkered fabric was also purchased as Oshima Tsumugi (with a slight characteristic odor).
No fasteners are attached.
A long coat?! A haori (outerwear).
The black one has seam pockets and patch pockets (with some sewing issues ← please check by zooming in).
The checkered fabric also has patch pockets on both sides.
The checkered fabric will fray if the selvedge is cut, so it's been overstitched inside, though it's not visible.
The lining of the seam pockets is also French seamed (the fabric is too soft, and the stitching wasn't smooth, resulting in some messy seams ← not visible from the outside).
Only the shoulder area is basted.
