Vintage Schmid moving wooden railroad hand car music box

The music box features two carved wooden figures on a handcar that move up and down as the music plays.

It plays the tune "I've Been Working on the Railroad".

Schmid music boxes were made in various locations, including Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

The primary material is wood, with some metal components for the mechanism.

Other information I’ve gotten online is that it is from the 70s though I don’t know the actual age for sure. I’ve had it for over 5 yrs myself.

This does work. The cart moves back and forth slowly as the music plays and the men move slightly up and down as the cart wheels move.

Old, shows signs of age/wear & its dusty - I won’t clean it in fear of damaging it. I leave that to buyer.

Well built but fragile.

There is some visible wood damage at the back underneath of the cart (see pic) but it does not affect the item that I know of.
