The Life of Daniel Boone by Cecil B. Hartley is a classic 19th-century biography of the American frontiersman Daniel Boone (1734–1820), first published in 1864. The book covers Boone’s early life in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, his exploration and settlement of Kentucky, encounters with Native American tribes, his role in opening the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap, his life as a hunter, scout, and symbol of westward expansion.

This is an early-20th-century Grosset & Dunlap reprint, circa 1905–1915 and still has its original dust jacket. There is no publication date which is common for GROSSET & Dunlap. The book is a light green cloth hardcover measuring 8 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches, which has been nicely preserved. There are no rips, tears or dog eared pages. There are some tears on the dust jacket which features a brightly colored portrait of Boone and a matching frontispiece opposite the cover page. Please review photos to verify condition. This is a very clean book!
