Rare tribal necklace with an amulet stone, heavy and large,in excellent shape. The original clasp was replaced with a lobster clasp at some point.
The stone is some type of Jasper, with a lovely pattern. The center is set with a translucent agate, of unknown variety. The chain is a woven chain used by the Nomadic tribal peoples, strong, and well made.
This was probably made of melted coins, so the silver content is about 800 or less- hard to tell, but gorgeous, nonetheless. As a work of art, it is a beauty.
Chain is about 25" long overall.
This almost looks like a talisman that a shaman would wear. The stone was not commercially polished, and is not perfectly rounded, but if it were, we would know it is not a tribal piece. The beauty of these pieces lies in their imperfections.
However, the design of this piece is so amazingly unique that it goes with everything.
