Vintage 14k Ruby Ring

This is a vintage 14k and ruby ring that was passed down from grandmother. It was given to my late aunt & then passed to me in the late 90s. I never wore it & i have it sitting in my storage facility since 2000. The ring is very old & the color of gold is slighty richer than modern 14k The jeweler explained to me how vintage jewelry was usually handmade & the alloys in the gold were less uniform & often unique to each jeweler while modern 14k is all made the same & exact in color. I do believe the carat stamp and Maker's Mark are possibly worn off, but the gold has been tested and is 14K. The ring is a size 8¼ & it weighs 3 g. It's in good condition, especially for how old it is. There is one spot where it looks like the ring may have been repaired at some point, but I'm not positive. It does not affect the look of the ring, and it's mainly on the underside of the band/setting. I believe the style of the stone is called a cabochon. Feel free to ask any questions. thanks
