Vintage 87.5 % silver Russian niello orante bracelet cuff
Gorgeous handmade vintage piece. Ornate hand chased designs with niello detailing. Some of the niello is flaked off. Looks like repeating pattern of evil eyes. Wave edges. Stamped "18K" and "875" along with other marks on one end of cuff. Slightly less silver content than 925.
Russian niello is a decorative metallic alloy made from sulfur, silver, and copper, or lead, that is fused into engraved designs on silver objects to create a black, lustrous, and durable inlay. The niello technique is sometimes confused with enamel but provides a distinctly metallic finish that is a hallmark of traditional Russian silverwork.
Plenty of flex to adjust to different sizes. Natural, beautiful patina included. May need a cleaning depending on your preferences. Tested with a neodymium magnet and JSP acid, guaranteed sterling.
