A sweet circa 1950s mid century gold mesh chain purse and makeup compact set made by Elgin. The compact opens up to reveal a mirror and still has the original powder screen divider inside. The purse snaps shut tightly and is just the right size for the compact, or a lipstick and credit cards. The frame of the purse measures 3.5" across and The compact measures 3" and is signed "Elgin American, Made in USA". The purse in in excellent condition and the compact is in good condition with some overall wear including light scratches on the back, a couple dull spots of the mesh, and it still has traces of original powder inside which could be removed.
