This is a hard to come by Old Pawn Navajo sterling silver turquoise ring. The Native Americans would pawn his jewelry for immediate cash. The shop would hold it and charge interest until he could reclaim it. Dead pawn are the pieces that were never retrieved. Old pawn jewelry typically dates from the 1900s to the 1970s. Most of the early pieces are not signed because it wasn't the Native American tradition to sign pieces they crafted or put 925 sterling silver on the piece. Also, the turquoise in Old Pawn is turquoise that you cannot get anymore because many of the mines have closed. I do not highly polish the rings because some people like the patina and you can choose how much patina you want to keep or not.
