My husband and I were gifted this vase in 1992. I believe our friend knew the artist because he owned several pieces by her and lived in the same area. Most of her pieces that are for sale online are her pieces with faces on them. This is a similar style but I think it was before she started doing the faces.
There is a small flaw (see photo). It looks like it happened prior to firing the piece.
