For your consideration is this vintage collegiate stoneware mug produced for the now defunct Parsons College of Fairfield, Iowa. Seller purchased this mug in a lot of others dating to the 1950s. The mug is teal blue in color and features the name "Parsons College" in gold print at the top, with a gold band underneath, and the college's seal in center, and a narrower gold band towards the base. The mug is formed with two protruding bands and a band of protruding chevrons at the base. Indented on the bottom is "MADE IN USA" and a number seller is unable to make out...most likely the manufacturer's mold number. It measures 3.1 inches in diameter at the top, 4 inches diameter at the base, stands 5.25 inches tall, and weighs 1 pound 3.7 ounces. Parsons College operated in Fairfield, Iowa from 1875 until filing bankrupt in 1973. This item is very rare and hard to come by for collegiate collectors.
