VTG 1980-90s German Erding Air Base Stoneware BEER STEIN Defunct Lw Werft 13

For your consideration is this vintage beer stein produced by Pokale Sachenbacher for a now defunct German unit based at Erding Air Base in Germany. The front of the stein bears a Coat of Arms for the German Lw Werft 13 unit at Erding. It is quite heavy and feels like stoneware. Some crazing is observed in addition to a crack in the clay on the bottom formed during the manufacturing process, but it does not go all the way through. The bottom is marked and reads "POKALE / (Trophy Image) / Sachenbacher / Pokale Sachenbacher / Schönbrunner StraBe 3 / 8201 Höslwang / Telefon (0 80 55) 4 56 u. 80 71 / Telefax (0 80 55) 82 49". Seller was unable to find mention of the specific military unit, but the mug manufacturer began operation in 1988 and is still in business. The stein measures 4.1 inches in diameter x 5 inches in height, and weighs 1 pound 10.3 ounces.
